Terms of Service

Last updated: June 2026

1. About Alderstone

Alderstone is operated as an individual proprietorship providing website design, development, and ongoing digital presence management services to businesses in India. References to “Alderstone,” “we,” or “us” throughout these Terms refer to this proprietorship trading under the Alderstone name. References to “client,” “you,” or “your” refer to the individual or business engaging Alderstone's services.

2. Scope of Services

Alderstone provides website design and development, search visibility and growth services, automation and CRM setup, reputation management, and related digital systems, delivered as a Build engagement, a Growth or Automation retainer, or a custom-scoped Growth Partnership, as described on the pricing page and confirmed for the specific engagement at the time of scoping. The specific inclusions for each engagement type are as published on Alderstone's pricing page and confirmed in writing before work begins, and form part of these Terms by reference.

3. Fees and Payment

Project-based engagements, such as a website or platform build, require payment of an agreed project fee, due as set out in the engagement scope, typically in stages tied to project milestones. Ongoing engagements, such as a Growth or Automation retainer, are billed on a recurring monthly basis in advance. Where an engagement combines project and retainer work, fees for each component apply as scoped and confirmed before work begins.

4. Delivery Timeline

Timelines are confirmed as part of scoping each engagement and vary based on the nature and complexity of the work: a focused website build moves on a different timeline from a multi-system engagement involving automation and CRM. Delays caused by incomplete or delayed client input, or by scope changes requested after work begins, may affect the agreed timeline, and will be communicated to the client as they arise.

5. Ownership of Deliverables

Upon full payment of the agreed project fee, ownership of the website's domain registration, source code, and all content created specifically for the client transfers to the client. Alderstone retains no right to restrict access to, repossess, or take offline a website or system for which the project fee has been paid in full, regardless of the client's retainer status, except in cases of non-payment as described in Section 6.

6. Non-Payment and Suspension

Where a recurring retainer fee remains unpaid for a period exceeding fourteen days past its due date, Alderstone reserves the right to suspend ongoing services under that retainer, though any website or system already paid for will remain live provided hosting costs have been covered. Continued non-payment beyond thirty days may result in suspension of hosting services, subject to prior written notice to the client.

7. Cancellation

The client may cancel a recurring retainer at any time by providing written notice through the contact channels published on Alderstone's website. No fixed-term contract applies to retainer engagements, and no cancellation penalty or exit fee is charged. A notice period of seven days is requested to allow completion of any work already in progress. Cancellation does not entitle the client to a refund of fees already paid for completed project work, which is addressed separately under the Refund Policy.

8. Client Responsibilities

The client is responsible for providing accurate business information, timely feedback during the design and review process, and any content, imagery, or materials required for the website that Alderstone does not independently source. Delays caused by incomplete or delayed client input may affect the delivery timeline described in Section 4.

9. Limitation of Liability

Alderstone provides website design, development, and management services on a reasonable best-efforts basis. While Alderstone aims to improve a client's online visibility, lead generation, and search rankings through its services, no specific business outcome, revenue figure, or ranking position is guaranteed. Alderstone's liability in connection with any claim arising from these services is limited to the fees paid by the client in the three months preceding the claim.

10. Changes to These Terms

Alderstone may update these Terms from time to time to reflect changes in services, pricing structure, or operating practices. Material changes will be communicated to active clients in advance. Continued use of Alderstone's services following such notice constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

11. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Any disputes arising in connection with these Terms or the services provided will first be addressed through good-faith discussion between the parties before any further action is pursued.

12. Contact

Questions regarding these Terms may be directed to the contact details published in the footer of Alderstone's website.
